1

1Q. WHAT DO WE DO?

As one of the most prominent locksmiths of our community, we offer a large variety of services related to locks, safes and keys. Our most commonly requested jobs, however, involve lockouts, key and lock repairs, key duplications and re-keying.

2

WHAT IS REKEYING AND WHY DO I NEED IT?

Rekeying refers to the process of changing the tumbler pins within an existing lock cylinder. The purpose of this process is to allow your lock to accept a new key, and eliminate the need for the old one.

Rekeying is useful for situations where your existing locks are no longer effective, or when you wish to replace your existing keys with new ones. Rekeying is also a good idea if you lose your keys or when someone stole them. In short, rekeying is a good security precaution.

3

CAN OUR LOCKSMITHS CUT A KEY BASED ON ITS NUMBER

In most cases locksmiths rely on the code numbers found on locks to cut the keys. This is common practice among vehicle keys, padlock keys, keys for filing cabinets, etc. So VIN numbers are not really necessary.

4

CAN YOU HELP ME IF I LOSE MY KEYS

Yes, as one of the best locksmiths in Kempton Park, our personnel are capable of making new keys from almost any kind of lock. This includes car locks as well as home locks, so you have nothing to worry about.

5

WHATS THE DEAL WITH RESTRICTED KEY SYSTEMS?

Restricted key systems are security protocols which are designed to prevent unauthorized people from making duplicate keys. What this means is that if your home or safe or filing cabinet has a restricted key system then only the locksmith who installed your locks will be able to duplicate the key. Most restricted key systems also have their own signatures and ID, and they often record the total number of keys made under such a system.

6

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM OUR EMERGENCY SERVICES?

Emergency Services are the kinds of locksmith services which are available after normal business hours and weekends. They are generally designed for emergency situations, such as lockouts or burglaries.
